Please help!

Ford ranger trouble. Misfire on 6 and 4 did all the obvious things to try and fix to no avail. Compression is good and someone told me the CATs are working as they are supposed to. When I run injector cleaner my check engine light goes away but comes back when I run my next tank of gas through it without injector cleaner. Does this tell me anything?

You must provide us with the codes.

Also, unless you have no money (no shame there) you should own a "mid-line to better" code reader.

Also, how did the plugs look when you removed them to do the compression check?

Get one with features the entire family's stable can benefit from.

Please elaborate on the "obvious things" you tried to fix this. It is important and we cannot assume that your obvious is the same as someone else's obvious. How about some more info on the engine? Mileage? Frequency of maintenance? Condition.. i.e. leaks?
Edit: I see you started a new thread for the same issue you have been dealing with. You should just continue with your original thread until problem is resolved, so people like me don't ask you redundant questions and you have to keep repeating yourself. Are you doing the work yourself? Verify you have the spark plug wires in the correct order and they are not resting on surfaces that may damage them.. like a hot manifold. Some inexpensive plug wires are prone to leak in case you went that route. Coil packs can be bought bad as well.

Codes are P0300, P0304, and P0306, haven't had any leaks 256000 km. I changed spark plugs and wires made sure the gap was correct. Have pulled the plugs again and found no fouling. Tested the injectors and the tested good. I changed the fuel filter and checked the coil pack, it was good. Cleaned the MAF And the air filter is good. It only seems to run rough when it idles, once I give it some gas it seems to run better.

The codes are P0300, P0304, and P0306. I changed all the spark plugs and cables made sure they had correct gap. I changed the fuel filter and checked for leaks, including vac leak, found nothing. I cleaned the MAF and my air filter is good. I had a mechanic friend check my coil pack and he said it was good. It's seems to only run rough at idle, once I give it some gas it seems better. I also tested the injectors and they all tested good. The engine has 256000 km on it.

Yeah, just with the noid light. How would I go about flow testing them? My misfire comes and goes, don't know if that helps. Someone had mentioned to me that maybe something was in my fuel rail, so I took that off and made sure it was free of debris.

Is there any noise associated with the misfire? Like a pop, or metallic click?

Now that you say it, I do hear a sort of metallic click when it starts running rough. What would that tell me? Thank you again for your guidance. 😊
