285-75-16 spare tire.

I bought a 2006 Ranger with the 6' bed and it did not come with the spare tire or spare tire hoist. I just had my mechanic hook me up with a spare tire and wheel size 285-75-16 the wheel has an offset so I had to order a special wheel. My mechanic showed me the spare will not fit under the car with the dual exhaust so I am having the exhaust rerouted and a quieter muffler put on. But will a tire that size fit under the bed and hang correctly if I buy a new spare tire hoist? Also, I'm having trouble finding an OEM hoist that fits. According to amazon and ebay the OEM hoists they have wont fit my truck they just fit the SUV's.

The stock/original spare on my 11' is a 235/70/R16, there is about 1/2" clearance on each side

235/70/R16 = 29" tall tire
285/75/R16 = 32.8" tall tire

I don't think your tire will fit between the frame rails, it's almost 3" to big

I know. I cut off the dual exhaust and I messed around for about two hours trying to get this tire to fit. I don't want to carry the spare in the bed. I'm not sure what I can do.

Unless you are running 32 or 33 inch tires on your truck, your spare is to big.

So where can I mount this thing? I really really really don't want it in the bed.

Doesn't look like you have a lot of options, in the bed or bolt it to the roof, or get a smaller spare.
