2001 4.0 v6 Valve cover gasket replacement
Hello all,
Recently I purchased all the parts needed to redo my left and right valve covers. Being the factory gaskets from 2001 the oil leak is pretty bad. I have found some videos on YouTube and other sites that are real un-clear on how to go about the passenger side of the engine, the driver side is easier (compared to passenger) I normally don't do heavy engine repairs like this and need some pointers if anyone has any. I don't think this is a job best left to the 'pros', it seems simple enough to do in a weekend.
Or if anyone can recommend a good video on the subject that would help a lot. I could probably figure it out on my own, just don't want to FUBAR something. The engine is only 95,000 miles old I would hate to need to replace it if I screw up too much
thanks again

Can't give you any help on removing your valve covers, but one of the BIGGEST mistakes people make when installing them is over tightening them.
Thanks to all who replied. I thought it would be nice to post an update. All went well with the replacement. If I had to do it again, I would defiantly drain the cooling system and pull all the hoses, they were a pain.
All and all though, the fix is good and it is nice to have a heater in the winter that doesn't smell like motor oil.

Surprisingly clean, and the PCV valve does not have any noticeable leaks. I did need to replace the PCV valve because the metal cooling pipe around the valve disintegrated when I removed the hoses.

deleted the "RubeGoldberg" PCVCoolantLoop including
that Coolant "OxBow" around the PCVValve,
Coolant "PitchFork" (ground off 5/16" CoolantBarbs) on the PCVVacuumLine on right side of IntakeManifold throat,
Coolant 5/8*5/8*5/16 PlasticTee that was cracked\leaking,
Coolant 5/8*5/8*5/16 SteelTee assembly bolted on the right ValveCover,
& the associated smaller 5/16" CoolantHoses.
