I have seen some video where you remove the two rubber dust covers on the pump and test it lile that. The 2000 Ranger pump assembly doesn't have those. My scan tool has an option to test the pump but when I try to access it doesn't allow the option. I can hear the pump engage when I use the tool to bleed the abs hydraulic pump. But it used to be louder. I have been at this awhile. Not getting resloved. Three brake boosters and four master brake cylinders since I have owned it. Less than a year. A fragile brake system I would say.
The new booster and master cylinder will probably fail. And then idk. Because the broken booster can harm the engine. Other Fords have the option to test the pump using a paper clip.
