Does anyone out there know the quickest way to remove the starter from my 2006 ford ranger 4x4 with auto trans. and 4.0 L motor ?

 

Disconnect battery cable FIRST!!!!!

Unbolt the rear bolt that goes to engine block, if it has one
Unbolt the two bell housing bolts
Pull nose of starter out and point it up
Easier to see and get to the electrical connections now, disconnect the larger cable and smaller wire

Now the Chinese Puzzle, lol
You need to pull the starter back and usually point it down, then twist and turn it to get it out between engine and front drive shaft, it will come out, just need to turn it in to the correct position, you will SWEAR there is NO WAY it will ever come out...................it will
