2001 ford ranger edge 3.0
Help!!! The other half (boyfriend) bought this truck. Someone stole all the fuses and relays out of it plus there wasn't a key that came with it. 1st question is Do the fuses and relays have to be for a 2001 ranger? 2nd question is Can you take the ignition cylinder out of something else ( FORD Freestar van)and put in truck and make it work? I have no mechanic skills but need help....Im a cancer patient that needs to get to doctor appointments!!!
Fuses are just regular fuses, any brand will work, just be sure to put the correct amp ratings in.
Relays, there are few different styles in a Ranger.
The key, that's another story.
Ford Rangers use a "Chipped" key, you will either have to have the truck towed to a Ford dealer to have 2 new keys cut and get the truck programmed to match the new keys
Or find a mobile locksmith that has the Ford software to come to you and cut and program the truck to the new keys.
After you spend about $400 on new keys, fuses and relays you might get lucky and the truck will run.
Why would anyone buy a truck in that condition not knowing if it even runs and drives?
