1994 ranger 4.0l, Sat for about 7 years, now white smoke but runs fine
I recently replaced the transmission in my 1994 ranger 4.0. It sat for 7 years but I drained the fuel before parking it. After I replaced the transmission and added fresh gas, changed the oil, spark plugs and spark plug wires, it started right up but white smoke is coming out of exhaust that smells like gas with a rough idle. No check engine light Please help

On the engine, below/behind the alternator on the lower intake is the FPR(fuel pressure regulator) it has the Fuel Return hose attached, it ALSO has a vacuum line attached
Check that vacuum line for gasoline, if found replace FPR
If FPR should leak it will cause raw fuel to be sucked in thru that vacuum line
Should be grey smoke if its fuel
White smoke is water/coolant
But colors are relative, lol
Start cold engine with rad cap off and radiator full
Idle engine for 1-2 min
If water/coolant starts to overflow from radiator you have a blown head gasket or cracked head
