How to improve the 3.0?
How to improve the 3.0?
I am doing a 5.5 fabtech and a 3' Bodylift and have heard from time to time that the 3.0 has a hard time with this i am looking to put anywhere from 32-35' tires. Is there anything i can do to improve my 3.0 to make it run the same with the lift??
I never had a problem with my 3.0, but you are gonna wanna regear to 4.10's if you get 33's or 4.56's with the 35's. I had an intake, exhaust, programmer and the maf mod done and i was getting 18 mpg in city, but i seem to be the freak exception.
Well, from my research, there isn't very much to do to the 3.0. I believe Bamachip's has a programmer out for it, which is awesome. If you want it to drive, accelerate, etc like stock, perhaps you could regear it? With 35" tires, I would suggest a 4.56 ratio. If you have the 7.5" axle, which I think all 3.0L Rangers have, thats the lowest gear you can put in them, I think.
Sounds good guys about how much am I looking forward to spending on a chip or programmer, just trying to get some info so i don't get ripped. I may consider a supercharger in the future but i just want to get my truck lifted and go muddin when i return. Thanks for the info.
