Hey I'm trying to find a aluminum Thermostat housing to replace the stupid plastic one this is the third time I've had to replace it I found on on rock auto the brand is SKP there's not a whole lot out there and it seems like a good part but can't find any reviews has anyone delt with skp
I replaced my thermostat in my 2007 4.0 Ranger with a aluminum one from WMPHE brand from Amazon for $39.99 with both sensors included plus a new thermostat and has worked like a charm.
I bought the Aluminum housing from 1Aauto, brand was TRQ I believe. Fit was just fine but it must be a higher temp thermostat because my gauge reads closer to the hot side than it used to. I may put the old thermostat in new housing.
I should of also said when I looked at the thermostat that came with the new housing I put my old Motorcraft back in the new housing as it looked like a better one all around.
Yes, mine was delivered yesterday. Details: Vendor: Amazon; Price: $30.72 (total); Rating/Reviews: 4.6 out of 5 stars; Description: Thermostat w/02 Sensor Combo w/Aluminum Housing. (Napa also has them for $150+). Make sure unit specifically says it fits your vehicle (see attachment). Mine was installed yesterday--fits & works perfectly, very pleased.
