My son has a 96 ext cab 4x4 and is looking to bring the front up a couple inches and the back about an inch. He's also like to soften the ride a bit. We've done some digging around and there's tons of info. about lifting Rangers, but it seems that most is general info. and I'm having a hard time finding answers to some specific questions.
1. I believe that from the factory the 4X4 is already lifted a couple inches front and rear. Is this accurate? So when I'm looking at a 4" lift, is that a 2" lift for the 4x4 that's already lifted from the factory?
2. Can I get away with just a 2" coil spacer in the front and an add a leaf on the rear?
3. Was thinking Bilstein 5100's to soften the ride. Anybody have any better suggestions?
He's just driving street and fire roads, so I'm thinking a Cut and Turn is overkill. He's a starving college student, so money matters.
Any product recommendations are much appreciated.
