Icon5 Flashing Dash lights

I have a 2004 B2300 2.3 engine with manual transmission. It is a 2-wheel drive Approx 175,000 miles. Recently the alternator light in the dash flashed on. Sometimes intermittently. If I turned on the headlights or the A/C with fan the dash light would go out. I had my mechanic look at it. He stated that the alternator was bad and replaced it, because it was over charging. I still have the issue, but it has escalated to the ABS lights flashing on and off along with the alternator light coming on. I can do the same things I did before, and the dash lights will turn off. I talked with my mechanic, and we agreed that it is possible that the old faulty alternator caused the battery to malfunction due to overcharging. I have replaced the battery, and I recently found out that the windshield wipers are also affected when the dash lights pop on. If I turn on headlights and A/C with fan, those ABS and alternator dash light will turn off and sometimes the windshield wipers will then run if I have them turned on. BUT sometimes the dash lights will go out, but the windshield wipers may not run. I'm perplexed in what is causing this. The sound of the Emergency flashers intermittently appears without flashers coming on. No rhyme or reason to this behavior.

I used to do a fair amount of mechanic work back in the late 90's, but I know electronics have changed due to computerization of things.
