I have been having some significant issues with the Gas Pump in my 83 Ranger.
I ordered a new gas pump assembly, and I am not getting a good reading passing through and the gas pump does not prime.
Thursday was the last day I drove the truck, and I got stuck about 10 miles from home.
The gas pump stopped priming.
Once I returned home, I ordered the new Gas Pump Assembly, which arrived today.
I am testing the system before installing it into the gas tank.

I am providing a video showing voltage testing.
When I turn on the ignition, the pump does not prime.
I do not want to put the new pump assembly in the tank without knowing it is working.


Any ideas on this would be great.

Cannot find the Inertia switch.
Supposed to be on the passenger side kick panel but not there.
My father wired this truck up in 2000-2001.
He passed in 2020, so have no way of finding out where he put it at.
I checked the drivers side as well and nothing.

I ran a jumper from the relay port 30-87The fuel pump turned on.

I'm letting the battery charge up, after leaving the ignition on last night. Once it is fully charged I will do some more testing.

 

Bad relay was the issue.
