87 Ranger Loose wire

Hey Yall,
Recently took the head off and changed a whole bunch of small things under the hood. Somewhere along the way a white with red (pink?) wire got knocked loose and I can't figure out where it needs to go. It comes out of the main wiring harness and plugs into something on its own as a single wire. Gotta be part of a sensor? Performance is generally unnoticeable...been driving it a few weeks with no new issues. Hesitations in 1-3 gear, occasionally dies at idle. Figured I ought to find where this bugger goes. Any help would be appreciated.
