IGNITION BROKEN work around kill switch help

So i have had my ranger forever and a day its a 96. It only had 500 miles on it when i bought it.

The ignition finally went kerplunk. it wont turn off, I have to disconnect the fuse under the hood 50amp to kill the engine, and then keep the battery disconnected so it does not drain the battery out.

When i removed the tumbler to try and clean it. A tiny piece of metal in the ignition tumbler, a 6 prong thing, popped of and vanished into the either. not sure if it was important, and the light blue thing that connected into the tumbler area on a black wire broke. but i read it was not important.
That is is just a dont lock your key in your car warning thing.

but reguardless.
I do not have a money right now for a fix.

but what i do have in my tool box is, some strong toggle switches, and plenty of wire.

is there a way to make a kill switch that.

1. cuts the car off.
2. disconnects the battery at the same time.

so until i can get it fixed. or fix it myself correctly, i can wire a switch it that shut off the engine, and turn off the power so it does not leave me with a dead battery.

videos, and everything else just show me how to replace stuff. but not how to properly do the wireing for this. or they do it to some later model car that the wire colors dont match.

I have wireing experience with harleys, cars, and push button starts for other cars. but this is a bit differnt. cause it will still draw power when the key is out. so i need that not to happen.

if any one can point me in the right direction, that would be awesome.
I love my old truck.
