Clearing Codes P0171 & P0174
Hello all... Has anyone else had trouble clearing "system too lean" codes? It's throwing codes for both sides (PO171 & PO174). Also, it hesitates going up a steep hill and sometimes at idle, it seems to want to stall. I recently bought the truck and the previous owner did a lot of work. The air filter is new, the mass airflow sensor has been checked (and looks new), the fuel filter is new, and there’s plenty of fuel pressure. I had someone check for vacuum leaks by spraying ether around the hoses, but found no leaks. I changed both upstream O2 sensors, and now sometimes it throws only one code (P0174) and at other times it throws both again. I tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery for an hour, but nothing seems to work. I am curious if anyone’s had a similar issue or what else I should try. Someone told me it could be the third (downstream) O2 sensor but I haven't tried changing that yet. If anyone could chime in with some help I would greatly appreciate anyone’s input. Thanks!
