Intermittent loss of power after short drive

Hey FFR-heads, I have a 2005 Ford Ranger 3.0 that has an intermittent issue that's been hard to pin down. I think there's been three instances total in like 2 years. And only in winter. The truck starts up fine and you drive it a short distance and come to a complete stop and then when attempting to accelerate again there's 0 power. It's like trying to gas it in neutral. I put it in park then put it back in drive and it usually accelerates fine. Any ideas where to start on this?

Thanks!
