2001 problem with coolant getting into oil after putting on new heads

So I've been having a problem with coolant dumping into the oil pan after I put new heads on this 3.0. Used Mahle set of gaskets when reassembling, has a manual with me so everything was torqued properly. On first start it was running super rough with lots of coolant quickly filling the oil pan. Did some reading and suspected the lower air intake gaskets (I did not rtv these the first time) so I did a compression test on all the cylinders and the glove test on the rad, both came out good. So I installed some new lower intake gaskets (felpro) and ran a small amount of rtv around all the ports. Started up perfect and runs great, idles smooth but I'm still getting coolant dumping into the oil, not as much but still a lot. It seems like it will drain the rad to about the half way point, so I'm thinking maybe timing cover gasket? But why would it go bad while I was changing the head gaskets if it didn't get touched? I'm at somewhat of a loss, any help would be appreciated

im not sure but I do remember that my head gaskets could go on a few ways and I think it had to do with water passages. do you have any pics? the heads are the only place I feel there can be be oil and H2O close to each other? did you do the water pump too?

Yeah I made sure to put the openings for the coolant jackets in the rear of the head gaskets. I don't have any pictures but I'm gonna pull it all apart again tonight.

I didn't do the water pump at the time but I am doing it tonight before I pull the heads back off. Maybe possibly that gasket around those coolant jackets failed at a very coincidental time.

To conclude, I had the wrong head gaskets. Make sure you don't get the fwd gaskets by accident when doing this job haha
