Im planning on rebuilding my tranny this winter and am wondering if any of you guys have done this and have any tips/tricks or any input. Do I need any special tools? What rebuild kit to go with? thanks

I have watched some youtube videos on this procedure. I know tutorials are out there. I have even seen Facebook groups for this. I hope that is at least some help and guidance. Keep us posted. Take pictures. Cheers!

I went ahead and rebuilt it with a kit from transparts warehouse and followed a procedure from all data. I thought that it went pretty well the second gear clutch pack was completely gone. I got it back in the truck yesterday with a new toque converter and motorcraft Mercon atf and it doesn’t move at all. I tried jacking the rear wheels up and it wouldn’t even spin them in the air. When you put it in gear it doesn’t even sound or rev different except for when you put it in first then the rpm’s go down. I’m thinking that it could be the pump or a internal leek somewhere but I don’t really know where to start again
