Hesitant Starting

Changed spark plugs and wires but the engine still takes too many cranks to start once at operating temp. Runs fine otherwise. Starts up on first crank when cold but often (not always) requires several cranks to fire up once at operating temp. What is wrong?

Have you tried to get any codes out of it? What’s the mileage?

Just a guess but I’m sure your O2 sensors are shot and they probably need to be replaced. They need to replace every 10 years or 100,000 miles. They give the information to the PCM and if they’re off, everything goes cuckoo. Even if it’s not causing the problem, your vehicle will run a lot better

C'mon dude, be a bit more descriptive.
What year?
What's the general state of repair and maintenance?
Are you the owner since new?

One guess: Check the PCV system.
Too bad you didn't check the compression when you were doing the plugs on that old engine.
