Hi all. I've been browsing the forum and I think I can get some honest advice here. I'm looking to move on from my leased 2022 Silverado to a 2019/20 Ranger, but I'm gun-shy due to the issues I've been reading about. Most of the ones that are in my acceptable price range are 100k-140k kms, so there's my main concern. The more I've read about the 10-speed transmission, it seems like it's a 50/50 shot of it being bad. But I've also read about oil in gas and whatnot.

I'm hoping people here can give me honest feedback and honest stories about what they've been experiencing. I can't seem to catch a break with transmissions haha....Focus, to Silverado, now thinking the Ranger....

I have a 2021 Lariat , purchased used a few months ago with 71000 miles on it. It performs very well and I am very happy with it. The US version has a 2.3 liter inline 4 cylinder DI engine, which is known to develop intake valve carbon deposits, which will need to be cleaned off. I’m not concerned about it, it’s a relatively simple process for a diy guy to do in his garage. Other than that I don’t have any more to share at this time. I’m not aware of any specific transmission issues with this generation.
