93 4.0 intake tube
93 4.0 intake tube
Hey all, just got my old ranger running again and found the intake tube from the upper manifold to the filter box basically crumbling apart. Went to the junk yard and theirs were either same or worse shape so I was thinking of just tossing a cheap amazon CAI onto it Not really caring about looks, or if it adds power or not, just trying to get by for another year or 2. It's a road truck 2wd 5spd so no worry about offroad problems.
Should work if you remember to include any hardware which was on the original.
The MAF sensor comes to mind.
If the diameter of the CAI system differs from the original air intake, the velocity of the airflow will change.
This change in velocity might effect the performance of the MAF.
If the air filter box is intact, crafting a tube might be all you'll need to do.
How many miles on your 1993?

Hey thank you for the quick reply! As far as milage I have no idea the odometer shows 13k miles, so I know it's rolled over atleast once, and for the last few months I drove it before I had to park it, the odometer completely stopped working, but speedometer kept working fine so I didn't worry about it lol and i was driving around 450 miles every weekend for work. As far as the MAF yes I am hoping to find a tube that has similar flow to keep the air speed and volume similar to stock.
