4.0 valve cover

I know many people here have run into a rust problem with valve covers, and just wondering if anyone has discovered available valve covers for a 97 Ranger 4 l V6 overhead valve engine? I'm a little disappointed that all of the valve covers that are listed are also showing as no longer available. The internet being what it is, I guess in the morning I drag out the welder but thought I would check with the people here who seem to be well versed in the problems I have yet to run into. Thanks much

Js,

I think your best bet is to go pickin' in a junkyard.
If you've got a rust hole, you might try some steelstik/pro-poxy (if the welder won't do) as a band-aid until you can find some valve covers

Valve covers for these OHV's are as hard to come by as a pro 2nd amendment Bidenite at an NRA rally. All joking aside, they are HARD to find even at junkyards. I was at my local JY several weeks ago and ran across a pair of 98 4.0 valve covers. Even tho I didn't need them, they came home with me. My covers may eventually rust through.

Good luck on your search
