Hello all; appreciate any insight on what could be a solution to our problem. Recently bought ‘94 Ranger 3.0 with 80k miles. Did routine maintenance after bringing it home and fixed a few minor issues like leaking fuel neck, oil and oil filter change..

Started to experience trouble starting the truck when engine had sat (overnight or while at work). First crank will struggle and usually die. Second crank with giving gas will idle out fine after a minute or so. When engine is hot, will immediately fire up fine and idle correctly. Since, we have changed a number of things anticipating that it would start the next morning with no trouble. Wrong. Here is a list of what we have done, hoping that someone has experienced this or knows where we should fine tune our approach for a solution.

What we have replaced:

All spark plugs, spark plug wires, and distributor cap, egr valve and sensor, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, coolant temp sensor, fuel filters, air filter, oil filter, changed all fluids minus transmission. Cleaned the idle air control valve, and throttle body. Most recently changed the fuel- pump assembly and fuel pump relay, thinking it could have been the fuel pump regulator letting pressure back off overnight. After changing fuel pump we did fuel pressure test, primed to 38 psi and held. Certain now that pressure is building in fuel rail, not sure what is going wrong if battery related or what. We have sprayed starter fluid - no vacuum leaks to our knowledge.
