2002 4.0 has rattle after replacing timing chain guides and tensioners
I have a 2002 4.0 with a manual transmission and 200,000 miles I had the timing chain rattle issue on so I pulled the engine and replaced all the guides tensioners chains and gears this mostly fix the issue but now I have a rattle between 2300 RPM and 2500 RPM only in gear. I initially thought it was an exhaust rattle, but I checked everything and it’s tight and I pulled off all the heat shields around the cats. I’m at a loss right now because when it was rattling before I replaced the guides it would be in neutral also and on start up I’ve searched the web for this issue, but haven’t found much anyone else have this problem?
If you have a 2002 4.0l SOHC why is your thread titled "95 4.0" ?
What brand of timing parts did you buy? I've read there are cheap ones on the market.
Also, are you certain your old oil pump is providing adequate pressure?
