1993 ford ranger 4.0 overheating
My 1993 ford ranger is overheating I replaced the thermostat, fan clutch, water pump, radiator, rad cap, heads and head gaskets. It will idle fine but once you start driving it, it will start to overheat. I’m not sure where to go from here.
yes I replaced heads and gaskets I can drive for about 20 minutes. I can drive it around my yard for a while but once I take it down the street a few times it will start to go above 210 pretty fast I feel like it could be a coolant flow problem but I’ve replaced everything the heat works good so the heater core isn’t clogged.
im not real familiar with that motor but on a 3.0 you have to check real good on how the head gaskets go on. they will go on and look ok a few different ways. but you need to ck real hard that all water passages are clear. and i think there is a right and left. id pull the thermostat and ck to see if its opening all the way. ive had 2 new ones either stick open or closed.
