Mystery vacuum line??

Trying to figure out what’s going on with the vacuum lines on this truck. 2004 Ranger 4.0L 4x4 Manual.

I have an empty vacuum port in the first picture, this looks to be the EGR vacuum solenoid? I also have a line coming from the intake and going down underneath the engine. Seems to head towards the passenger side can’t trace it after that. Shouldn’t that line connect to the port in the first pic? I believe this is how it should be routed based on other trucks I’ve seen. What could it possibly be doing?

Sorry, I can't make heads or tails of your picture, what year and engine is that? I don't know if I am following a spark plug wire or a hose. You can tell there was a hose on it not to long back, to clean.

My hose + routing match.
While I checked it (you're very welcome) I noticed mine is old and crispy.
It's 2 sections of hose with a 90* coupler. Said coupler is really clear in your 4th photo.

Thank you! So you also have nothing attached onto that vacuum nipple in the first pic? Sorry just trying to track down weird vacuum/idling issues on a new to me truck.

In my truck there are two barbed vacuum nipples under that electrical connection (in 1st photo) and neither is vacant.
In my case, the higher fitting is connected to the hose which goes up to the intake near the EGR valve via that forementioned 90* elbow.
This is a vacuum source tube.

Below that fitting is one which is connected to a hose which goes back to the charcoal canister. This is part of the EVAP system.
You must bend your neck to see the color coded smoke detection test access cap which is at the 9 o'clock position of the actuator in the same picture.
The test cap is out of sight in that picture because it's down low.

Bring a small mirror if need be.

Went to a junkyard and verified what you said as well. So if I reconnect that spliced hose into the barbed vacuum nipple, what do I do with the other end of the hose that seemingly disappears into the engine? Could it be some type of bypass someone did?

What's that 2nd picture you included? The pictures are from your own truck, yes?

It shows the hose going up to the intake just rear of the EGR valve.
Frankly, that hose looks like it could go directly from the intake to that barbed nipple without snaking around the EPDM (the thing with the 2 wee hoses on it).
