I hired a guy to swap out my 2001 3.0 flex, he was amazing, modified his truck to bolt on an engine hoist, 27 yr old Texan who is already an expert. Anyway took three days and when he was done zero engine codes, engine is purring and he charged me 900. Put on a new Ford camshaft synchro, timing belt , waterpump and gaskets. I cleaned the injector, throttle body gave it a nice refresh.
So i'm messing around next day and I notice my coil pack - the firing order is *** backwards

He marked the coil pack and plug ends but he musta flipped it north/south when he re-installed - the whiole coil box.

So what's weird is the whole thing purrs and no codes. I pulled em all and put the coil pack assignments right like below but it ran like like a paint mixer so I put it back the wrong way and it runs great.
I know they fire in pairs so maybe the mirror image of "right" is still right? Then I think Jeez he re-did the timing belt and cam synchro - did he redesign the engine timing ? No idea whats going on here. But I figure if there are zero codes - leave it alone -
