3rd gen Ranger XLT 4x4 stickers where were they on the body originally?
This new to me Supercab Ranger has a nice 4x4 sticker on the tailgate. Did the stickers also come on the side of the XLT or were they just on the tailgate?
I have a 3rd gen also (2008) XLT 4X4 ext cab 2dr, stickers on mine and the ones I see around puyallup,wa( 30 miles south of Seattle), are on each side on the very rear of bed, near the top and about 3" in FRONT of the rear taillight assy. I've never seen any on tail gate, my tailgate just has the large ford oval in the center with a rectangular chrome ranger XLT emblem on upper left side, hope this helps,oh I ordered mine brand new in late 2007, which is when the newest ('08) just came out and that's right from factory.

Thank you. This is where I thought that they liked to put them on the rangers and the full sized trucks for those years as a generality. This vehicle has changed ownership a few time so curious about it. I will try to snap a pic.
I really like how it sits and will probably leave it alone even if it's not OEM. I think that I would like to add the stickers in the areas that you mentioned. No rush but it's at the back of my mind now.
That is exactly where I thought it would be! What are those silver covers at the top of the bed. I have some ugly double stick tape on there probably because the last person used a topper and left all of that double stick crap on it.
I think that I can get it off with enough goo gone and rubber eraser wheel but I expect to do some damage and for some damage to be unveiled during the process too. I think that those "covers" would help hide whatever lurks beneath.
Here is what I was referring to. This shows the location of the 4x4 sticker on the tailgate for reference and also the double stick foam that is 2.5 inches wide and buts right up against the rails for the tonneau cover. I wonder if those covers you have need to go over that edge or not. I can already see bits of rust right below that double stick tape and would like to avoid paint work.
Thankyou for the compliment, that "silver" is probably the sun reflecting off of a flat black bed liner I had a company sprayed onto bed some years ago, it really is a paint saver. AS far as yor goo gone getting that old tape removed, I've used that on removing road tar and have noticed that if the paint is orig., it is VERY tough to damage chemical wise, I've used acetone, mineral spirits, and paint thinner to remove tar and other things...just don't let it sit too long on paint, if using anything other than goo gone, that stuff seems to be very mild on CLEAR SEALED FACTORY PAINT, good luck!
I see your pictures and i'll be damned, never have I seen a4x4 sticker there, but then again looks like you model is between 94 and 02 becuz of small ford oval, I think they did change size of oval to large AND moved 4x4 to side of bed in about 2003+? or there abouts, are u sure that isn't a sprayed on bedliner or that hammering rough paint that one could use on the inside of a trunk, I swear from your Pic, it looks like that hammering flat black very rough paint I sprayed my 67 impala ss trunk with, VERY HARD to remove!
I think I like the pre 06 tailgate but still interested in the side decal.
It is definitely double stick tape. I can see the paint lift to expose rust and the paint flakes up underneath. Going to go for it and deal with it. I suppose I could even put black vinyl stickers over the effected area if "panels" won't cover it after doing some applicable rustproofing.
As far as coverups, I meant something like this from that Silver NJ 05 silver truck...looks like that would cover up the area that covers the double stick at least partially. Looks like you have something similar on your truck and it is even wider.
Thanks!
