I was just wondering what it means if anything, when the check engine light flashes and then goes off??

A flashing CEL means that the PCM is currently seeing a misfire condition in one or more cylinders. This usually happens under load. If it goes on long enough, it can light the CEL solid for a misfire code.

Good guesses might be that it's time to replace the spark plugs or fuel filter or clean the injectors. But it could be one of a dozen other causes, too.

Yeah

I noticed mine did the same thing about a month ago. What happened was I put in Bosch 4s only on the easy side thinking I would do the other side the next day at the shop. Well when I tested it and put down the throttle it happened to me, of course because I had more of a spark to half of the engine. Just change the plugs and wires and make sure they are correctly on and when test driving go heavy on the gas to feel the engine better.

My 01 Edge 4.0 had the same issue. The dealer told me it was due to excess carbon build-up in the intake. The dealer removed my intake and cleaned everything, including my injectors. They did this under warranty...

Never had that problem again...

I was gonna put bosch platnum 4's in my truck but the guy at autozone said it would be overkill for the motor, and recommended the platnum 2's.I put all new plugs and wires on.

Are the plat 2's platinum on both sides? The one bank of the engine
fires from ground to center(reverse)
The factory plugs are actually different depending on the side of the engine.

I used autolite dbl plats..(they make the motorcraft ones)

And I agree time to change the plugs... perhaps the wires. Dont
cheap out on wires it can cause ALOT of odd problems.
