first question, does anyone know the size of the stock exhaust pipe befor and after the muffler?

second question, those with super 40's, what size pipes are you using?

I think stock is 2 inches or something. You could try measuring it though. If you wanna get fancy just measure around the pipe and use (pie)r"^2

So 3.141569r^2 = outside diameter.
r^2 = outside diameter/3.141569

I used magnaflow, it has a hella nice sound and its beefy loud.

It goes 2.25" till after the cat and shrinks to 2" then pops back out at the end to 2.25". I just took off the 2" pipe and put 2.25 all the way back with no muffler, any muffler you get will be more restricking then no muffler

super 40s sound awesome but hurt performance ALOT, i changed from a super 40 to a magnaflow and its a night and day difference performance wise! sound the magna flow is quieter but still a good sound, same piping which was a 2.5 inlet and dual 2.25 outlet .... i have since change to a 3 inch inlet and dual 2.5 outlet due to the added flow produced by the s/c ...

good luck and get us some soud clips when you do this

05edge, get this, i promise you'll love it. They lowered the price i believe. It will be dual outlets out the back. It will sound ****ing AWESOME i promise ya. Their pic is wrong, it comes straight out hte back(like hte pic of hte ranger they have) and no it wont hit your bumper.

No dont buy that, get something made, barely any of the kits fit like they should, your better off getting a muffler and going to a custom shop, my muffler was 80$ and the install total price was 200$ out the door..

Dude, totally wrong. That is the exhaust system that was built by Ford. It is extremely high quality. First of all, it is all very thick metal, none of those crimped corners that restrict airflow. Second, it was installed stock on the "performance ranger package". That's not a kit persay, they are liquidating stock mufflers put on ford rangers. He is much better off getting that "PERFORMANCE" exhaust for $150 compared to the $200 you paid.

Get it 05edge, don't listen to people who don't have it. They're ******* an awesome thing, I can't say how much I love this exhaust.

If you want to see how much it costs straight from magnaflow, go to www.magnaflow.com and look up ford ranger. It is the 700(i think) dollar kit they have. Notice the pics are the same.

Just an FYI if you do any towing you don't want your ehaust pipes going straight out the back. It will blow exhuast dirt and junk all over whatever you are towing. You will find yourself cleaning whatever you tow twice as much.
