Tuner

k... so i was reading around and i saw some mention of tuners and chips and things of that nature...

all i know about em is that they go through your computer and change a bunch of settings around. AND ive been talking to another dude that lives nearby and he was telling me that i was gonna start seeing some power issues going up hills and things like that because of my AT and bigger tires in addition to the tranny shifting at the stock shift spots, making for some rough shifting..

so my question is, if this really will become a noticable issue, what are my options to fix it? (things like horrendously rough shifts and put-putting up a hill ike a 4cyl bug me...)

4.0L - 31x10.5x15 tires - exhaust & intake done -
Thanks guys.

and yes, i know i need to post pictures, but this weekend i ran into some serious electrical issues with the system, and my grille shell cracked... long story but its all getting fixed over the week while im at school. Gotta love mom.

The auto tranny will actualy shift better with one of Dougs tunes, he will also be able to correct the speedo to match your tires.

I have used the tuner programs for over a year now an I am quite happy with it.

right, we sell dougs tuners too, the ability to adjust for tire size is an important feature, it will adjust your shift patterns, overdrive settings, speedometer, even your cruise control. plus youll get some more power out of it too!!

They are 100% great.
However that being said what gears do you have..
my 4x4 came stock with 31's but I have 4.10's
if you have 3.55's you might just want to regear to 4.10 gearing

If you do want a tuner though bamachips is the best there is for rangers and
ford right now.

Back home there are a couple, but each one is specificially made for your truck (mods you;ve done, engine, year, all that fun stuff) plus each one has 3 custom tunes. But yeah everyone that i have ever seen get one loves it.

If i had a few hundred laying around my would get one too

i have no idea what my gearing is exactly, its whatever's stock on the 2001 2wd jobers. Whats the $ on a re-gearing? ... damn my budget.
