Ranger caught in avalanche and almost thrown off cliff...

This isn't mine, but it's my Mom's cousin's Ranger. He lives nearby and is a close family friend. It is an '03 FX4 Off-road. He was driving to Lake Tahoe and got caught in an avalanche coming down the mountain. The rock guard rail is what kept him from sliding down the cliff. One in a million...

Well as you can imagine, he is a changed man, that cliff would have been 1000+ feet drop. He had to climb out the window to get out. He said that it is still driveable, but is pretty messed up.

Dude tell him to either lower it or watchout in those zones! He must've stopped? They say never stop but I wasn't there so I really shouldn't pass judgement.

He says he was driving slow because of traffic when it came down the hill. He also said that the wall he's pressed against was broken and the only thing holding him on the road was a tiny bit of his front tire and the rear bumper which were pinned against the wall. A few inches forward or backward he would have gone down the cliff.

Damn, thats jacked up and glad he's alright, but those pictures are pretty cool. I like how in one picture the station wagon is right behind him and than in the on below it they are boning out down the hill.

I'm not sure. I'm getting all this info second hand. My dad is the one that talked to him about it all. But he said that the snow pretty much picked up the truck and swept it into the wall.

And everyone can use this as proof that there is snow in California!

What sucks though, is that he just got the truck back from the body shop a couple weeks ago after being rear-ended so hard that he slammed into the car in front of him. The cars in front and behind him were totalled, but he only had like $1000 worth of damage.
