Duals on my Exploder sport? Edit: Added dynomax sound clip from an Exploder...

Well i wanna put duals on my trusty ole exploder sport... but im running into a few dilemma's... first... what kind of muffler... and second... how do i wanna run it.

Muffler wise, i was thinking either Flowmaster 50 series, or Magnaflow (i don't want it to too loud, but i want a rumble, and not rice sounding lol) I like the sound edlebrock mufflers put out, but not the price, and my ex has dynomax on her car, and i dont like the way it sounds.

And running it... i don't want it straight out the rear, i was thinking of having the shop copy the way the stock exhaust exits on both sides, with chrome tips... or maybe putting it out at an angle behind each wheel. I want people to know its there, but make it look more... suttle. What do u guys think?

Make both tips exit like the stock does. That'd look sharp!

Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler on OHV 4.0

What do u guys think of that sound? How do u think it would sound being dual, instead of single out? I kinda like it...

i like the angle behind each wheel, thatd look cool, or side exhaust lightning style, with a magnaflow muffler, or flowmaster 50 series, with 2 1/2" pipes from the cat back, and 3" tips

for one thats a OHV like you stated your have a SOHC it doesnt sound anything like eachother.

ok my buddy had a 2001 explorer sport all offroaded out he had 40 flows on it dual out, coming out like your one stock tip but 2. it sounded ok to load tho a 50 flow would sound alot nicer or even a Borla would be a great choice.

i have seen another way was out right before the rear tire dual it was nice but can cause damage to the wheel

I looked under mine and I dont know if there really is enough room for duals. I may try it but it will take a really good exhaust guy or a really good kit to make it work.

My buddy has an Explorer Sport and had the same guy do his exhaust that did mine. He swept them out the sides. It was expensive...but its done right and not half a$$ed
Here's a few shots of it. It's custom bent from the cat back

Hey Shawn... what muffler does ur buddy have on his Explorer... how does it sound? Im really being picky, i don't want something to loud. Especcially since Zach ruined the dynomax for me lol... Im gunna look into borla, but as of now, it looks like flowmaster 50 series.

personally i wouldnt get those. but htats me let me look around a sec and show you. i would personally do like a 8" tip and tuck some of it up behind the bumper so you dont see the tip end

here get Vibrant tips. same brand i have the quality is WONDERFUL. i am trying to find a distributer for ya. pic one you like. also Zach beard has these shorter one's on his truck before the body lift
