Is it worth it?

So, i've been looking for a ranger for a while now (4-5 weeks) and seen a few and then they get sold.........havent really seen one lately that i want. This listing has been on autotrader for a while.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=61

It needs some work, (looks like just cosmetics) but at $2,000..........you have a good bit of money left to fix it up the way you want (I want to spend $5500 or less on a truck). I dont really like the color (says its blue).............figured I could repaint it Sonic blue or something. Although, repainting a different color is more work than just repainting the same color, b/c you gotta paint the jams, under the hood, and so on so it looks good all around. I would be able to do all the body work, and paint myself, cause i know alot about it. I just wonder if its worth fixing the truck up, cause i want a nice truck.

looks like a good project in pictures, but id have to see it in person. bent frame? other unseen probs. but it would be a good buy if it panned out to be just body damage.

I wouldn't do it! I wouldn't want to have to deal with all the body work and paint that needs to be done. So one vote No from me!

I have 2 thoughts about it. One is that it would be nice, b/c I could fix it how I want...........................but, it would basically be a project, which would take a while.

Oh, and cant say for sure, but i'd say it doesn't have a bent frame, because the fender isn't messed up that bad, and if that bumper hasn't been changed, it looks like something just kinda bumped/ran into it.

If you are wanting something that you can do alot of work on, then it may be good for you. If you are looking for something in good condition that you can just start modding, this isn't the truck for you. It will take a little while before the truck would be back to a decent condition, besides the wheels are ugly and they don't all match. What are the wires henging down on the passanger side below the dash?

I was wondering the same...........i would hope nothing important. lol Anyway, my truck was a project, I did a good bit of work to it to get it looking real nice. I had to do body work and paint because it had door dings, and fixed a couple dents, and replaced a fender on it, and had to get a bumper for it to.

I guess you just need to determince if you want to do tha much work this go around. Now that I have looked a little closer I have noticed a few things. The front valance is missing, no A/C vents in the bezel, non-matching wheels/tires missing, flat tire, front corner light, the carpet looks a little dirty, and the obvious fender damage. Upon lookin a little closer those wires look loike the may have been a part of a system(there is one more coming from under the seat that looks like that kind of wire).

Have you looked at this truck yet?

No, I haven't went to look at it. Since i would have about $2500 to spend fixing it up, I would have plenty to get the wheels and tires i want, replace fender, lights, and even paint.
