RF: I need your help. Truck options...

Well, my peice of **** Pace Edwards tonneau broke (again) and I'm throwing it in the garbage.

So, that leaves me with the question on what to do with the b ed of my truck. I'm looking for ideas for my truck.

Here's what I'm thinking.

1.)I don't use my bed alot, so a prerunner tire carrier would be cool, but I need one that lock really well, because around here, that would be gone in 10 mins. If I did this I would also Line-X my bed.
2.) I like the idea of tonneaus, but either all soft or all hard tonneaus won't help me. A hard tonneau would be okay, but they cost a lot.
3.) A topper might be okay, but I don't know if it will be "cool".

Any ideas guys? I'm just getting some checks from the gov't for Air Force training, so I'll have some money to play with...throw out anything that sounds interesting.

-Dane

I think linex with a tool box that sits inside, under the rails. Then just pick up a CHEAP tire carrier and linex that too. I don't know if you ahve a full size spare, but I woudl suggest that also.

Me...I would do a tool box under the rails and then soft tonneau (like an extang roll up)

really though, I like the tire carrier idea best... I use to have a hard tonneau but am no longer a big fan of them. Line-X is good stuff too!

I like the look of the topper, a nice one, LEER or A.R.E, and maybe a Tire Carrier. Reserch some locking nuts like Barri nuts from ExpeditionExchange.com or PangaeaExpeditions.com or something like that. Plus you can get tire carriers with locks on them. Then I would get the glossy black Rhino Liner, also

You could do what n3elz did with his bed, He has a tool boc and then a spare tire carrier right behind the tool box.

I personally like the topper idea but then again I'm biased toward them. But if not that I like the idea of the spare tire carrier and line-x.
