im new, so if leave something out that could make this more descriptive just let me know. alright here it is: i needed some knowledge on an engine swap, and i hope you all can help. first off, i have 01 ranger edge single cab w/5spd manual 3.0 (giving some problems now at 130k, 100k of which is me in the last 3 years)

i can get my hands on a 4.0 ohv out of a 00 ranger. in all the reading ive done lately i know: i need the wiring and computer, i have already had to put in an 8.8 rearend, and new clutch, slave, and pilot bearing about 10k ago. my friend is telling me that he thinks the manual will bolt right up to the 4.0.
is this true?
will the computer off an automatic work in my manual truck?
and the little stuff is what im worried about like brackets for the AC and stuff like that? any info at all is a big help and really appreciated.

and out of curiosity which switch would be easier: 3.0 to 4.0 OHV or 4.0 SOHC? cause im kinda bent on a 4.0.
