Is it procharger that makes the one for a 2005+ Mustang 4.0? If so, that would answer the question. I would look and see if its the same blower unit. If it is, the brackets are available to fit it to the 4.0 Mustang which should fit the 4.0 Ranger. There may be other obstacles though. I would like to see someone try it.

I just looked:
http://www.procharger.com/FORD/ford_auto.shtml

for 4.0 SOHC. Rated at 7psi and 9 psi. Looks like the same blower you have.

he said he "had" a stang with a procharger. Probably took it off and kept it when he sold the stang.

I know some people looked into this, and determined that space up front was definitely an issue

is 8psi of boost the same as if you regulated an air compressor to 8psi and let the air blow out the end? (to feel how much air is being pushed into the engine)

not at all, the forced induction is a TON more air than that, just because its the same pressure has no relationship to the amount of air. picture a straw and an empty toilet paper roll, now how much air will flow through the straw to make a certain pressure? how much more air would you need to blow to get the same amount of pressure to come through the toilet paper tube? its all about volume of air.

^ word.. pressure through a 1/2" hose and 3" Intake tubing is a world of difference in the volume of air and psi.

if you want a blown 4.0 just go EE ...

Kinda surprised that ROUSH hasn't made a roots blower for the 4.0 in the new Mustang/Ranger. They make them for the Stang and F-150 V-8s. I would think the cost of the EE setup would have to go down if it had some compention in the market.

Contact procharger. They made two blown rangers for sema a couple years ago i believe but the kit didnt garner enough intrest. They may still have some brackets laying around you can use and even other parts needed for the install.
