Ok im tired of not having a rear defrost on my window, did ford ever make one for the rangers? If not the 06 model better G-damn it... it's hard to see outta a tinted window covered in frost.

 

i think tremorjon was talking about doing something like this... dont know if anything ever came of it though

 

Get a 1200 watt AC power inverter and and a hair dryer...

 

How about aim a vent at the back window and run the a/c.

 

Wouldn't it be harder for ext. cabs?

i think that there are some universal defrost kits out ther...u just have to wire it up and apply the strips to the window, but u cant have any aftermarket tint on the window when u install it...

i think someone was thinkin about this for a mod, or a how-to, but its never surfaced...

 

It really doesn't seem like it would be that hard to pull off.

So they wont work with my tint im getting cause i think my Limo tint outwights the defrost. Plus i got a split rear window so it would have to find a way aroud that. Maybe the wires could connect to a plate and when the window is shout the connection would be made and the current would be carried to the other pare of the window.

 

I dunno, just a suggestion. I've never had a problem with them fogging on my truck. I can tell you a trick that works for anti-fog on my motorcycle visor. Take some of your average cheap dish soap and a small amount of water. For giggles let's say a table spoon of water with a few drops of soap and mix it up. Put it on a towel and wipe it all over the rear windows. Let it dry and buff it clean with another clean towel. That should make it less likely to fog up.

Its called a towel keep it in the truck and wipe the window off.

 

no, u couldnt use a plate...the plate has to be attached to the window which also has a metal frame....and the frame connects to the truck...and u sit in the truck....[insert loud electrifing noise]....haha, i dunno if it'd do that, but the current would prolly be lost on the plate....

u could just do the side 2 windows and skip the back....

but imo, tint > defrost

just to what dave said, or get some rain x anti-fog....

 

Or use your side mirrors..

 

I find having the slider open a crack helps with foggy windows. If there's frost on the window... scrape it off?

 

yea the side mirrors work alomst as good because your almost seeing the same veiw because the bed shouldnt get in the way
