Icon5 How Do I Remove My Front Shocks?

Hi All,
I know this sounds stupid to some if not all of you but I want to do it without damaging something.
I have a 2003 Edge 2WD 3.0 Auto if that matters. I bought 4 Monroe Reflex shocks. The rears are self explanatory, the fronts I have no idea. Where do I jack from? How do I remove the shock once unbolted? Do I need any special tools?

I really appreciate your help. It must be a ***** because 3 mechanics have blown me off completely.

Thanks,
Bye.

It is only 3 bolts on each shock. Two small ones underneath and the top nut. Nothing difficult and to get them out is kind of tricky, just keep wiggling it.

Do I jack from that hook welded on to the front of the control arm or do I jack from the side of the trucks frame beneath doors?

I would jack it up from the side not the hook.

i jacked it up from the side too. and i went in from the hood to get to the top nut. but im tall (6 ft) so that wasnt a problem. but yeah, the 2 lower bolts go through the lower a-arm if i member correctly. so.... yeah. its pretty self-explanatory once you find it.

What about tightening them back down, you don't want to compress both of those rubber bushings on top....
