Now that I have my 32" BFGs my braking power is pathetic. I need more braking power. Far to many times I get the ABS system engaged when coming to sudden stops, and generally I just don't like that last minute feeling.

My truck has under 15K miles, so anything removed will essentially be like new.

What's the best bang for the buck?

 

 

braided stainless brake lines.......they wont give under the pressure........

and your brakes can't be that bad with 32's or there is other problems that you might want to check out.....didn't 31's come stock on that truck?

 

if this is your problem, you might wanna look other places that MORE brakin power. larger tires have increased leverage and should activate the the ABS less often.
my truck on 33's almost wont trip the ABS at all on dry pavement.

 

my 35's wont trip ABS period, wet or dry....and that is how i like it

 

I don't really have too much of a problem with my 33's and steel rims. Which should be much heavier than your setup considering TSL's are very heavy.

 

really? wow. My truck with 15x10 steelies and 33x12.50 Cooper STT is damned near impossible to stop. Can't figure it out. My pedal is always soft. I am thinking new master cylinder. Do they make an upgraded master cylinder?

 

well I have 07 with 285/75 (32.8) and mine also is hard to stop and if i brake hard my ABS will engage

 

Do you have an 8.8 with rear wheel disc? Get one from an Explorer like me, and you'll have plenty of braking power with 4-wheel slotted disc brakes.

I doubt it. The rear wheel disc, to my knowledge, was only offered on the XLT Explorer's.

 

I have this problem after mudding and need to clean out the rear brakes and adjust them. but once that is done they are good.

I do have a tougher time stopping with the cap however.

 

I just put hawk pads on my truck with some drilled/slotter rotors, i havent broke in the rotors yet so ive been easy on the brakes but they work amazing compared to what i had.. dont buy them for the rear though because they are morons and their rear pads for a ranger and made for disc's and we dont have disc's in the rear...
