i have a quick ? will a cb walkie work with an external anteni (like this one)

i miss having a cb but dont want a bigg box the size of a radio in the truck.

I had (or think I still have) one similar to that one and yes you can get an adaptor to hook up a normal antennea. Some you can even get a regular microphone for it also to hook up.

With a normal antenna you should have the same range as any stock CB. With the built in though, you are limited. A friend had one and we were suprised to get 2 miles with it.

 

You can put an external antenna on that. It has a BNC antenna connector, so you would either need the antenna cable to have a BNC male connector on it, or an adapter from BNC to whatever end is on your antenna line.

 

I have that exact same handheld cb. Works great. Yea you can hook it up to an external antenna. Just head over to radio shack and tell them what you want to do.. im sure theyll be able to help ya.
