I'm not gonna ever use my bumper to tow, but there is that large chromed step, where you attach the ball to.

I was wondering if anyones ever put any rubber grip there for when stepping up into the truck?

It'd probally only be used for when attempting to get into the bed with the tailgate up.

 

i dont know if i would use the stock bumber for towing anything, and nothing heavy!

what about using the rhino-liner knock off that you can get at walmart?

sand and paint it?

 

I'd say grip tape is an excellent idea! I've had my foot slip off of that area before (painted on mine), and it sends your shin right down onto the edge of the bumper! Not fun!

 

Your best bet is grip tape. The same stuff the kids but on the skateboards, you can get it at a skate shop for cheap and it comes in big sheets

 

I'm probably going to do that one of these days, along with each and every little ridge-up on the actual step of the bumper.

 

2.99 will get you a 9" x 33" sheet of any color off of e bay

Well if you do that ^^^^ w/ grey grip tape you wont even notice... It would look clean and professional
