Something in the making

I posted a thread about a month ago about buying a 92 ranger for $250 and building it.

https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...&highlight=250

Well it fell threw and i thought it was dead... then came last week.

I was helping a buddy move his auto shop to a new location and we uncovered a 350 w/ tranny in his storage area (I know its a chevy engine but stay with me) he will give me the engine/tranny and let me use his shop and tools as long as i let him help.

I figured i couldnt pass up this deal. He a chevy mechanic and knows those engines trannys and any other chevy part in and out. hes got a edelbrock carb, headers, and a racing intake and all will go w/ the engine.

Where going to the bar this weekend and make sure the deals still good and if it works out ill be picking up my "new" ranger early next week.

It'll be cool aside from the chevy engine, it'll be a good project though.

Don't listen to them!

What year is the motor, and what version? Long block, short block, or maybe if you're really luck an LS motor?

Anyway, before you put it in the truck you should probibly rebuild it, especially if it's been sitting long enough for him to forget about it... You should build it up though, for $1500 or less you can build a meeeaaaannnn 350, but it will be a challenge to get a Chevy motor in a Ford truck... Keep me up to date, I want to see this... If it falls through give me the motor, I'll put it in my Camino

I think it sounds like a good project. But a chevy???? hey, a free motor is a free motor, make it work and have some fun with it!!

i belive its an older 350 (70's) so there shouldnt be any electrical problems.

The block is sitting there w/ both heads laying next to it, hes got a high preformance cam/pistons/plugs/wires and everything else to assemble it sitting in boxes next to the engine. He was rebuilding it to put it in a nova but he never found the time
