CAI + TBS = squeeling noise?

About a month ago I installed a K&N intake on my truck, after the install I noticed a squeeling when i step on the throttle. This only happens for a short time in the throttle range, just a little pressure on the pedal gets it to make the squeeling noise then as I press harder it stops and all is normal. This didn't make me think much of it until I installed a poweraide TBS and it got a lot louder, still happens when it did before, just louder. Doesn't seem like much could have gone wrong installing these parts myself, just wondering what's up.

is it a cone style intake? usually, with vehicles that have aftermarket cone style intakes, it is noticeably louder. not too much really.

It's just an air whistle. Randomly happens on different vehicles with different style intakes.

do you have a 4.0 sohc by any chance?

andrew's (rangerboy03fx4) truck did it when he put on his MAC intake, we could never figure out what it was, other then the intake.

it is a cone style, i do notice the sound of the air getting sucked in, just that squeeling is really loud.

I have noticed the whistle when the throttle opens at first too. i checked and rechecked for air leaks but if it was a leak it would do it all the time and not just when accelerating. I just left it and it has not seemed to harm anything. BTW did you notice any power increases after the TBS was installed?

Well that has been discussed before and most people think there is no gain with a spacer. Why? Because a spacer is old technology. It came out during the carb days and it would help because it caused better air/fuel mixture since it would install after the carb. But now we have injectors so there would be no affect toward mixing the fuel and air.

Mine had a really loud whistle noise from the intake. Especially after I got full header back exhaust and a tuner. I liked it through personally.

throttle body spacers are only good for the little whistle they give off, not any power gains. i like the sound, but i guess ome dont.
