Just to let everyone know, today I called Ford's customer service (1-800-392-3673) and complained about the noise. After giving them my complaint, the call taker advised me that the more people who call and complain. Ford would look into doing a recall. So if you are having this same problem, give a call. Who knows maybe Ford will make this their recall and we can get rid of that chain noise for free.

 

Whats the number i will call and complain, the noise aggravates the hell out of me.

 

Number added to original post. I just waitedfor someone to answer and then I explained the problem to them. They recorded the VIN for their records.

 

I've had mine "fixed" twice, the second time they pulled the motor and replaced both timing assemblies. The noise never went away.

 

They fixed mine under warranty about a month ago but I can already hear it starting back. Its not as loud as it was before but its definitely there.

I had a problem with the first dealership I took it to. They said it was spark knocking and gave me a huge run around. The second place had no issues fixing it. After I dropped it off, the tech called me within an hour and said he had the parts and they would have it ready by 5.

I would definitely have contacted Ford if it hadn't been resolved.

 

I'd think about contacting them! If the noise is coming back, then it definitely hasn't been resolved.
