Bassanni Side Exit (in front of rear tire) cat-back

Hi all, I just got a 2004 Ranger XLT extended cab 4x4, 4.0, auto. I really like it so far, I've got an old 88 that I really like too so when I was looking to get a newer truck it was a natural choice. Anyways, I would like to put a nice cat back on it for improved sound and looks. I'm leaning towards the Magnaflow Dual Exit Cat Back, but I saw that Bassanni makes a cat back that exits in front of the rear tire. I was wonding if any of you are running that sytem because I can't find much info on it. Also, I noticed the gibson dual exit exhaust is listed as only fitting the 2WD Rangers, but the magnaflow dual exit kit fits 2WD and 4WD? Aren't those pretty much the same kit? Anyways, I'd really appreciate you guy's input on choosing an exhaust for my Ranger. Thanks.

Don't know much about Bassani or Gibson. Although I do think Bassani is of a higher quality exhaust and they cost a pretty dollar.

Me personally, I like Magnaflow. There free flowing and give the cleanest sound IMO. Most, note I said most, aftermarket performance mufflers are a free flowing design. It's the internal core design, packing material and the muffler shell design are what determines the sound produced and flow characteristics. So I'd say go for the Magnaflow, but to each his own -Mike-

Bassani is gonna be more expensive I bet, anyone know what kinda money that kit costs?

I'm just thinking thinking of cutting my stock muffler and welding on a aftermarket muffler to the existing piping since its brand new and all... I just don't know what brand I wanna go with I want it mostly for HP... Borla, right?

The Bassanni Side exit kit on ebay is only $305. The magnaflow dual exit is about 550.

Didn't you think Borla was the best exhaust you had on your truck? If so why are you getting rid of it?

How much are you selling it for?

I've had the Bassani stainless cat-back for about 3 1/2 years, and it's great. No rust at all (Chicago LOVES to throw salt). I paid about $450-500 if I remember correctly. The kit on ebay is probably aluminized, which they now make in addition to all stainless, when I got mine it was stainless only.

That does look really nice. You wouldn't happen to have any sound clips of it would you? How does it sound to you compared to the other cat backs available? Thanks.

I've got both! Well.. sorta. Dual magnaflows on the ranger and Bassani side exit on the Lightning.

I don't have any sound clips, if you search this site I believe there is a sound clip of a Borla on a 4.0 that sounds pretty dern close to mine.

How loud is it in the cab? Any drone ay hwy. speeds? I am thinking about changing mine up alittle. Make it differnt from all the rest in the area you know? The Bassani setup looks very clean.

On the hwy. with the windows both down and radio on at moderate volume, you have to trounce it to really hear the exhaust. In my opinion the Bassani is the best of both worlds: nice deep tone, but it's not deafening while driving around either.
