Currently I have 32 x 11.50 x 15 BFG AT. My situation has changed so I need a different set of tires for work. I need to put something on there that is for higway use and no offroad. What size tire would you go with and what brands. Also something that will help with gas mileage a little better than those 32's eating my gas up. I have no idea what size would fit for the 15 x 8.

 

a 31x10.50x15 BFG All-Terrain would be an excellent choice...

 

 

Stock is 235/75/R15. go with some BFG's.

BFG tires are good tires even if you don't offroad.....

 

Im not really sure what to say, as all I said was that bfg wasnt a good choice for his criteria. I didnt get angry or lose my cool not sure why you are losing yours.

speaking from experience, i would go with the BFG A/T's.....they are the only one of the 3 that has a 50,000 treadwear warranty.....my dad had the Yokahama tires and hated them on his '99 Silverado......

i got 45,000 miles out of my old 33" BFG A/T's and then sold them to Bill (04lvl2) who ran them a while then sold them to someone else......they had probably another 15,000 miles left in them when i took them off.......

 

my father had some Michelin® Cross Terrain® SUV tires that lasted 65000 good tires.. kinda ****ty in snow tho...

 

would the bfg make that much of a difference in the mileage? meaning would an AT tire be better than an only highway use tire? And what size would it be? 31x10.50?

 

if you go with the BFG's i would get a 31x10.50x15.........that would be an excellent size choice with a 4.10 gear and a 3.0......you would be looking at probably 16mpg city and close to 19 or 20 on the highway.....

Check out the Revo's. Everyone I've talked to has been very happy with them.

 

A highway only tire would be better and would perform better then the bfg's.

 

you also have to look at how many miles the tires will last.....and out of all three tires you posted up earlier, none have the same guarantee that the BFG's do.......

 

thats cause of the tread compound is so hard, which also translates into road grip that wont match a Highway only tire.

 

i think 31x10.5 is a good size for those wheels... here is mine before the lift

 

what kind of shape are your BFGs in? I might be willing to trade you tires. I have some 31x1050 Good Year Fortera Silent Armors that I got like 3000 miles ago. They have a 70,000 mile warranty on them! Awesome on the street, but I wish they were 32 ATs....

Michelin LTX M/S hand down. If you do not need a AT tire, trust me, the Michelins will be the best choice for you. I have them, and I love em...

 

even if you don't take my tires, my advice (no *****ing please) would be not to get BFGs. Yes, BFGs are a great tire, but if you don't need impressive off road performance, there are so many choices of GREAT street tires that would be a no compromise solution... don't limit yourself...Just food for thought...
I got BFGs before I had my Forteras and decided that I was realistically in need of a street tire. But now, after some things have changed in my life, an AT wouldn't be so out of place.

 

could you fit the stock 235/75/15's on an 8 inch rim? i might get the wheels with christmas cash and the tires on my tax return

 

the BFG's are toast not mileage wise but they are cupped. Possible getting another job and its farther so more highway driving. I will have to check on those michelins.

 

Don't go with 31's. They are 6 ply and heavier. If mileage is your main concern you want a lighter tire. Go with a passenger tire. Like P235/75R15 for example, not LT235/75R15. The Michelin LTX M/S is a good tire, great in the snow.
