Lock Nut Size
You don't need to remove the wheel to tighten the bearing.Just jack up the corner and remove the dust cap from the center (usually need an old screwdriver and hammer).Remove the cotter pin and keeper then tighten away.
I generaly use channel lock pliers. It doesn't need to be torqued down very tight.
I know.If you go BY-The-Book , it says to tighten so many foot pounds then back off so far.
I've always tightened it until the wheel starts to drag a little when you spin it , then back off about 1/8th turn.
Aint lost a wheel or bearing yet.
