First Mod This Weekend!

So I have a 1999 Ranger 4.0L, and I haven't done much of anything to it yet besides new A/T's 30's. This weekend I am lifting the whole thing about 3 inches and maybe installing new shocks if I can afford it. Anything else you guys think I should do for cheap while I'm at it? I'll post before and after pics when its done.

Just 3 inches? Its just coil spacers in the front and AALs in the back, not really a package or anything. I just want a little more clearance for off-roading and such. Do u think I'll need new shocks for that??

Unfortunately, he's right. It sucks when you buy new ones and have to buy a different set which supports a bigger lift a few months later. Sucks!!!

...And not trying to sell anything. But I have shocks that'll support the 3'' lift. Give 'em to ya cheap. PM me if interested.

What about 2 inches all around?? Still new shocks? I might actually be interested if I have to buy some, which hopefully I don't just yet...

You should get a Chevy Drop shackle if you are planning on going higher in the future. From what I hear they are adjustable.

Thats the thing I dont plan on going any higher in the future. I am gonna get a new ranger in May '08, so I want to save for that truck. So do you think I could get by with no new shocks with a 2 inch lift?

I dont Have T-Bars b/c it's just a 2WD, I wish I did though. It would make life a lot easier. So, AALs and Coil spacers it is. Has anyone used lift blocks in the rear?

I have lift blocks in the rear. But 2'' is a weird size for a lift. I think 3'' is the only size lift block they have for the rear without milling or to much more work. I'd just get the shocks, brosuf. And I'm not just sayin' that. If you're going to lift it, do it right. Ya know? I'd rather see ya do it right than possibly break something due to the rides quality when you're off road, etc.

I have a lifted 2wd, too!!! Btw.

Just a heads up, they do make 2 inch blocks because that's what comes stock on edges. i would think (assuming you're still gonna lift it) that coil spacers and a 2 inch block from an edge would be good to go. not positive cause i'm not too familiar with coil sprung trucks but just throwin it out there
