Bilsteins...What can I expect?

I have been looking into getting new shocks and I was wondering about Bilsteins. For 250 bucks what can I expect to achieve? Will the ride quality change? Will the truck ride more stiff?
Thanks for the help

well from what I've experienced (In a 2000 Blazer) they ride great, even after they start to get shot they still ride really soft. Offroad they do soak up a bunch of of the bumps with ease.

you will expect that they will be long round tubes that are known as shocks arriving.. from there you will be expected to install them.. after that fun cussing time you will take the truck out and drive it.. thus proving that they dampen bumps in the road and give your truck a nice feeling of comfort and control.. from there you will head over to the strip club where you will meet your future wife.. named bunny.. thus proving that a good set of shocks will get you somewhere in life....

Thus proving that Stone is a smartass. haha jk. From what I've heard everyone loves there Bilsteins. I'm debating either those or KYB Monomax or whatever there called.

Well, when you have no shocks in the front it is one hell of a ride. So hopefully I can get some up there soon.

I love mine. I had SensaTracs on mine(I know, WTF was I thinking) and it was a difference like night and day.

I work at bumper to bumper auto parts so I got mine from where I work, but the best place to get em at a good price will either be Summit, Jegs, or even Ebay. KYB offers 3 lines of shocks, 2 monotube and one twintube. The Monotubes are MonoMax's(best) the Gas-A-Just(good) and the GR-2(twintube design, not as good as monotube shocks).

If you're going for Bilsteins, and for $250, you're probably going with THIS
guy then.

This is where I bought mine a few years back. No complaints at all. Can't beat the price for these either.

Um, like I said in that other thread, im not saying that Bilstein is a bad shock by no means, just throwing something out there thats different. Your truck is exactly like mine, theres not a difference between a '99 and a '00. Trust me you would love em!!!
Im glad I could be of some help.

Bilsteins are a monotube shock as well.

Don't get Rancho 5000's

I purchased these shocks like a damn foo, and my ride quality is probably a bit worse than stock. Too firm for daily driving. I don't do any off roading. Anyone ever try Koni's or Rancho 9000's?
